India Postpones Global Steel Conference Amid Middle East Crisis

admin

India has postponed a major global steel conference scheduled for April 16–17 in New Delhi due to disruptions caused by the ongoing Middle East crisis, the federal steel ministry announced. The decision comes as international participants face increasing challenges in travel and logistics, impacting the event’s planned scale and participation.

According to the ministry, several delegates, speakers, exhibitors, and stakeholders have reported difficulties related to scheduling, transportation, and overall coordination. The government cited the “evolving global situation” and the resulting uncertainty as key reasons behind deferring the conference.

The crisis escalated after the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran on February 28, prompting retaliatory actions from Tehran, including the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and strikes across the region. These developments have disrupted global movement and trade routes, directly affecting international events like the steel conference.
