World Bank President: China's GDP Growth Expected to Exceed 5% This Year
World Bank President Malpass said on the 10th that the overall global economy is weak this year, but China will be an exception, and China's gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate is expected to exceed 5% in 2023. Malpass said at a media conference call at the 2023 Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank on the same day that China's optimization and adjustment of epidemic prevention policies will help improve the prospects of economic growth in China and even the world.
He said China's private investment is strong, monetary policy has room for countercyclical adjustment, and the government has been encouraging the growth of the service sector, especially health care and tourism.
