On January 8th international oil prices plummeted. Light crude for February delivery fell $3.04, or 4.12 percent, to $70.77 a barrel by the close on the New York Mercantile Exchange. London Brent crude for March delivery fell $2.64, or 3.35%, to $76.12 a barrel.
